Frequently Asked Questions

how soon can i start my baby sleep training?

i recommend sleep training from 6 months. the newborn phase is so precious and the 4 month sleep progression is a normal that needs to happen. by 6 months you and your baby are more prepared to take on creating a routine.

what age do you work up to?

I work with children aged up to 5 years.

will there be tears?

no tears is a promise i unfortunately cannot make to you.

it is likely that there will be some.

infants and small children use crying as a method to alert you to a change in state - but this is something they can also do when they’ve a burp to burp, a nappy to change or are simply feeling tired. at the consultation we will discuss how you feel about crying and create a plan to reflect this. we will create a plan together to be kind and responsive to your child.

is sleep training safe for my child?

with my approaches yes.

having worked as a paediatric intensive care nurse for nearly 15 years i can assure you that the safety and the comfort of your child is a priority to me.

will sleep training create separation issues?

through gentle changes to your child’s routine and methods your child becomes educated on their sleep, not distant from their sleep - and with their sleep improving - this aims to improve your health and wellbeing too - allowing for enhancements and an increased quality in your time together.
